What Causes Bleeding Gums?

Bleeding gum causes boil down to one issue - inadequate oral hygiene. The cause is bacteria, which can turn into tartar and plaque buildup, irritate your gums and lead to bleeding and receding gums. This long-term infection can eventually cause loss of your teeth. When plaque, the bacterial film that grows on your teeth, builds up too much, gingivitis can result. The plaque that causes gingivitis irritates the gums, making them bright red, tender, swollen, sensitive, and bleed readily. You many brush and floss and rinse with mouthwash but still not be doing enough to stop the causes of bleeding gums. Gum disease generally doesn’t hurt though it causes bleeding gums.
